PTV SPORTS TV is a first 24-hours state-run sports channel aimed to provide sports news and international sports events for Pakistani viewers.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, on Wednesday Jan-11-2012, has inaugurated PTV Sports channel at PTV Centre Islamabad.

Test transmission of this sports channel had started from 30 December 2011 on AsiaSat 3S at an orbit of 105.5ºE.

The Prime Minister has also announced the regularization of the 350 more employees of Pakistan Television.
