Out of total number of such professionals, according to available data, estimated 50 per cent enter the job market.
At present, an approximately 1,50,000 IT professionals are available in Pakistan.
When contacted, an official at Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) told APP (Associated Press Of Pakistan) that the current pool of IT experts and engineers available in the country is not sufficient to meet the domestic requirements.
He said, the government has taken several steps to increase the number of IT experts and engineers to achieve targeted results.
“Our focus has been the growth of skilled human resource pool for the country’s IT industry. In this regard, we have been providing financial subsidies, technical support and partnerships to companies, as well as Pakistan educational institutions,”the official added. - [APP, The Nation] Published on August 20, 2011
