Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has launched its data centre services in Karachi and Lahore to facilitate corporate sector. The data centres have also earned internationally recognized EPI certification as PTCL moves forward on way to improving its telecommunications operations in accordance with modern trends.
This was the first EPI certification for any data centre in Pakistan and shows PTCL’s commitment to providing modern services and products to public and private sector.
The data centres not only cover the whole country but possess capability of geographically wider coverage in the region, it added. Data centres will help corporate sector cut its expenses on Information Technology system while enhancing its performance and security.
The service would suit the most the business organizations which have the flexibility to store their basics, disaster recovery and business evolution sites in data centres and can avail the services in accordance with their business needs. It provides hosted cloud based services including storage, software, application hosting, infrastructure hosting, catching, Collocation, disaster recovery, back-up, hosted business facility, unified business communications, and tele-presence switching.

PTCL chief executive officer (CEO) Waleed Al Rasheed said that PTCL was making heavy investment in its assets to acquire latest technology and EPI certification was a testimony to its commitment to enable public and private sector enjoy international standard technology. “It was our responsibility as a big national institution of the country,” he added.
