Google Earth, the most contemporary tool for monitoring several different kinds of places, is now operating in Pakistan to flick through the government land to abstain any illegal encroachments. This initiative has been taken solely by the President of Pakistan who had proposed this idea to involve Google Earth for surveying government’s property; he surely looks keen about deploying the latest technology.
The use of internet is multiplying rapidly and apparently there are 20 million users with about 200 million to be expected in coming years. Such kind of an initiative is innovative and first ever of its kind to be used in Pakistan. Sources tell that Google Earth will be monitoring governments land to curb land mafias and avoid any disturbance at the government’s property; it will also be monitoring some sensitive areas of which the general public is not aware of. Future will reveal how the government has been able to manage such ventures as these require efficient and sincere personnel to pursue such modern projects and not myriad committees to hamper the process.
If the President can employ this technology to monitor government’s land, than why not use it to examine the flood hit areas in order to ease the relieve efforts in progress and many lives can be saved.
