Punjab Govt. Pacts with eWorldwide Group
The Punjab government and the eWorldwide Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the betterment in the economic and social sectors. According to the agreement, state-of-the-art technology would be introduced in various departments in Punjab which would bring about improvement in the performance and monitoring of those departments.

Chairperson Salma Abbasi on the part of eWorldwide Group while Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khalid Sher Dil, signed the agreement on behalf of the Punjab government. Among others who were present on this occasion include Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Secretary Health, Secretary Education, Chairman TEVTA, Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation and M.D. Daanish School System.

Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif termed the agreement between the eWorldwide Group and the Punjab government a welcome step towards the promotion of modern technology and the knowledge hub and disclosed that initially two pilot projects would be launched. He pointed out that the acquisition of the state-of-the-art technology for rapid development was the most important need for the hour and for that matter, the Punjab government was pursuing a well defined policy.

He further pointed out that the foundation of a revolution in the education field had been laid through the introduction of IT labs in over 4000 high schools and the provision of internet facility at the intermediate level in the province. He expressed satisfaction that the students across the province were benefiting from that modern technology and were getting informed of the ever-new inventions and the ever changing scenarios. He said that solid measures were also being taken for the promotion of vocational education and for that matter, TVETA had also been made a dynamic body. He said that the syllabi of TEVTA had also been updated on modern lines while skilled labour force was being prepared keeping in view the market needs. He said that the Daanish Schools equipped with the modern facilities, were also being established as well in the most backward areas of the province.
