National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has been strictly following government policy that minorities should not be discriminated on the basis of religion or sect whether it would be the provision of registration services or employment at authority.

According to a Press Release, NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik stated in a meeting with Pakistan Sikh Council (PSC) Chairman Sardar Ramesh Singh who was heading a five-member delegation here, says a press release.

Sardar Ramesh Singh appreciated NADRA services for the minorities and Tariq Malik’s earnest efforts to ensure cooperation with Gurdhwara for the registration of their marriages. He said NADRA is the only organization in the region which has registered minorities in national database featured with multi-biometric technology, thus empowering them with an identity.

Tariq Malik informed the delegation that NADRA has registered total 5852 Sikhs so far including 3105 male and 2747 females and ensured their rights as genuine citizens of Pakistan. He also urged the community members turning from 17 to 18 to acquire CNIC which is mandatory to caste vote in the next elections.

They also discussed registration related issues. Tariq Malik sought PSC help for registration the genuine Sikh citizens of Pakistan and identifying illegal aliens within the community. He stressed that under the prevailing security situation, it is important that evidence of identity must be verified.

NADRA assured that it would consider "Annand Karraj" marriage certificate issued by Gurdwara for verifying the Sikhs marriages.
