President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Muhammad Saeed Shafiq and other leaders have requested Pakistan Telecommunication Company to offer discounted tariff for EVO and DSL lines for KCCI member. The KCCI President, chairing first meeting of KCCI sub-committee on communications and transport here at the Chamber, stressed on importance of communication in today’s business world. The telecommunication holds binary importance in today’s business arena.
A team of senior PTCL officers also attended the meeting, said KCCI release on Friday.
Saeed Shafiq was of the view that though we are largely dependent on wireless communication but the importance of landlines still stands superior and reliable in comparison to cell phones as there is no hassle of signals and line drop. KCCI Vice President Junaid Esmail Makda suggested that PTCL and KCCI should sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual interest and coordination.
Shahid Ismail, Advisor to this sub-committee urged that if telephone line remains out-of-order for 20 days in a month, PTCL should not charge its line rent. Liaquat Ali Shaikh, Chairman, Communication and Transport, Sub-Committee suggested PTCL that the change and professionalism should spread out and implicit at all levels across the country.
