This Solution was provided by the teacher , Almost same assignment was given last year as well
Statement:
Consider an Elevator system, where few persons rush into the elevator on the 18th floor of a 20 story building Plaza.
A person named Imran also steps into the elevator. He is not a regular user of the elevator. Imran wants to go to the first floor.
There are two panels on the right side of the door in front of him; one is control panel, where numbers of buttons are displayed labeled; “1”, “2”, “3” , up to “20” along with “Door Open” & “Door close” etc. In the second panel guidelines are given about how to handle the elevator.
For few seconds, he concentrates on the buttons and presses the “Door Close” button. Then again he thinks and presses “1” (i.e. the button to go to first floor). Finally he arrives at the first floor and steps out to his desired floor.
Question:
Map the human processor model and all its parts (Components) that come into play, on above scenario.
Note: Before attempting the assignment, go through the Human processor model and all its parts.
SOLUTION:
Human Processor model consists of three elements i.e. Perceptual System, Cognitive system & Motor system.
After rushing into the elevator, Imran looks at the whole system of the control panel and try to perceive. All three systems will be activated on different stages;
After that Imran has to press the button for desired floor, again the Perception system, cognitive system and motor system will be repeated.

SOLUTION:
Human Processor model consists of three elements i.e. Perceptual System, Cognitive system & Motor system.
After rushing into the elevator, Imran looks at the whole system of the control panel and try to perceive. All three systems will be activated on different stages;
- The information on Stage1 will be encoded into some internal representation. In next stage, the internal representation of the stimulus about the control panel is compared with memorized representations that are stored in the brain. If he had already used the control panel of the elevator than he will perform the required response else he will try to get the required activity on the current situation by the help of COGNITIVE SYSTEM
- In the next stage he is concerned with deciding on a response to the encoded stimulus. When an appropriate match is made the process passes on to the final stage where MOTOR SYSTEM comes into play and proper response will be given to the necessary action i.e. by pressing the CLOSE DOOD Button.
After that Imran has to press the button for desired floor, again the Perception system, cognitive system and motor system will be repeated.
