Blog: Meeting to Examine PTCL Share Purchase Agreement With Etisalat

Federal Minister for Privatisation Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan has convened a meeting of four-member committee on September 28, 2010 in Islamabad for examining the matter concerning Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) with M/s Etisalat and auction of 3G Spectrum.

The committee includes Senator Khan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Naveed Qamar.

The meeting will discuss matters pertaining to resolve issues of LDI licence to CM Pakistan, auction of 3G Spectrum and PTCL real estate in consultation with all stakeholders and the concerned ministries and divisions.

The Ministry of Privatisation held several meetings with Etisalat to resolve the issue of outstanding overdue payments from Etisalat. An amount of $800 million is outstanding with Etisalat.
