And so it happens. Microsoft’s attempt to become Google’s competitive search engine has accomplished the first task at hand: beating the second place Yahoo!

As of September 14th, 2010, the top 3 search engines are:
  • Google with 65% market share

  • Bing with 13.9% market share

  • Yahoo! with 13.1% market share

According to a research published by The Nielsen Company, a global marketing and advertising research company, the top US search sites are:


It’s a moment of celebration for a baby search engine which is trying hard to stand firm on its feet against the search giant Google. Don’t whether to brush away the loss of second place or it really didn’t matter, Yahoo!’s CEO said Yahoo! is not only a search company.

One area where Bing would need to go strong is the mobile arena. Google is currently the default search engine for iPhones and, of course, its own Android platform based devices.
