According to a press release by Nokia Siemens Networks, company’s managed services business currently supports 380 million subscribers around the world. This figure was released on the announcement of NSN’s fourth Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
NSN is ready to invest heavily over the next five years to, first, build and then efficiently operate the GNOC. The company currently has three Global Network Operations Centers; two of them are in India and one in Portugal.
The center is expected to begin work from April 2011 after the work will start from October this year.
Today, Nokia Siemens Networks has more than 2000 experts across its GNOCs that manage more than 280,000 network elements, handle close to 30 million alarms, resolve 80,000 trouble tickets and generate 45,000 performance reports per month.
Having announced the plan for GNOC, NSN’s CEO Rajeev Suri, said, “We are committed to being a local player in Russia and this is a strong step in that direction,” said Rajeev Suri. “These network operation centers are what we call ‘process factories,’ where Russian employees can develop deep competencies in network management and operations.”
