Cloud Computing and Telecommunication
Cloud computing is a new revolution in the world of IT which not only reduces cost and workload but efficiently optimizes your enterprise solutions through an internet driven workforce. This new technology works like an electrical grid providing shared resources on demand through a single server where you only pay for what you use. IT and telecommunication both go hand in hand and so is the cloud computing considered a very bright opportunity for telcos.

Cellular vendors can play a significant role in the penetration of this cloud technology and that requires a complete technologies revolution. On the other hand cloud computing will be equally beneficial by increasing network utilization and managing traffic efficiently by allocating shared resources. It provides more revenue opportunities to services providers by reducing the workload. Several applications can be deployed without the cost of servers. For data centers the operational expenses will be minimized. The US government will be spending $ 43 billion on cloud computing by 2012.

Jackie Fenn, a Gartner VP, commented “Looking at real benefit, rather than the hyped expectations, we see a number of potentially transformational technologies that will hit the mainstream in less than five years, including cloud computing.”

The recent technologies IP multimedia subsystems (IMS) and NGN architectures are now being designed in a manner to adjust in a cloud environment where software applications can be treated as host.
