Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom has started investigation regarding delay in execution of national data centre project. Arrangements have also been made to forcefully stop those employees who are willing to appear as witness. Ministry has issued two separate notifications. One notification announces start of investigations regarding delay in the project and whereas according to the second notification a committee has been formed to review the cases of extension in service of employees. The committee will submit its recommendations for extension in service in a few days.
There is a great deal of panic among employees on issuance of these two notifications since review committee will be headed by Tariq Badshah who is also the head of national data centre project and the project got delayed during his tenure. People fear employees would not be retained on their seats once they call a spade a spade. So they will be compelled not to say anything before the committee in order to save their careers.
The ministry has started investigations on delay in the project of national data centre on the instructions of Sardar Latif Khosa, PM Advisor on IT. Director IT Arif Kundi will hold the preliminary investigations who himself has headed the project for one year.
