Nokia recently announced to acquire a web based mobile platform for the promotion of its existing services like the Ovi applications that include wide range of services like maps, emails and even music. Nokia acquired Motally for this purpose which offers services like in-application tracking and reporting and optimizing mobile applications. Motally plans to offer these services for Java, Meego and Symbian platforms.
Marco Argenti, VP Media, Nokia says:
"The acquisition underpins Nokia's drive to deliver in-application and mobile web browsing analytics to Ovi's growing, global eco-system of developers and publishers, enabling partners to better connect with their customers and optimize and monetize their offering".
Motally is rather a small set up with a total of eight employees and was founded in 2008. Mobile analytics services will be done by Motally for several different platforms of Nokia like Ovi, NAVTEQ and Nokia Siemens Networks to produce optimize application.
