Blog: Google hits 1 billion visitors in a single month

Slightly more than a billion people went to Google websites in May setting the record of being the first online operation to attract so many visitors throughout the world.

Microsoft websites were closing in on the milestone with about 900,000.

Google has been entitled with being the first online operator to attract more than a billion visitors in a single month.

Unique visitors to Google’s websites rose 8.4% compared to May 2010.

Microsoft‘s sites were number two with 905 million uniques, a 15% rise. Yahoo had 689 million. Yahoo still has more monthly visitors in the U.S. than Google.
